Alan Douglas Crone, 70, was born September 20th, 1954, on the US military base Fort Monmouth, New Jersey and died May 16th, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas. Alan spent 40 years in the Army, 20 as a Brat and 20 as an Army Sargent. He was educated in many parts of the world and earned college credit while in the Army. He was a skydiver and was honored to jump with the US Army Elite Parachute Group, the Golden Knights. He was also privileged to fight with the U.S. Army Special Forces, a highly trained fighting group. He was cited for bravery and courage for going above and beyond under-fire during the Guatemala Conflict. He was a member of the Signal Corps where he specialized in radio communications and radio repair.
Life after the Army he worked in electronics and was finally able to indulge in his favorite pastime, cooking. Alan married his High School Sweetheart Susan, June 6 2002 (D-Day), after a 30-year separation and began his crazy life as a stepfather!
He will be remembered as a loving, caring, jovial and God-fearing man, and will forever be in our hearts.
Alan is Survived by his wife and true love Susan, his mother-in-law Josephine Valverde, by his four brothers Royce, William, John and Eric, and by his sister Joyce. Also, by his 6 Stepchildren, Michael, Rachael, Daniel, Gabriel, Nathaniel, and Carol, by his 7 grandchildren, Halley, Tristen, Colby, Alexander, Claire, Vaelin and Verick.
The funeral will be celebrated on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at the Church of the Ascension at 10:00am, 9510 W 127th St, Overland Park, KS, 66213 with a reception following. Grave Site service is at Resurrection Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Road in Lenexa, KS,66215 at 1:30pm with full honors.
