We remember Allen Richard LeBourveau, whose steadfast care and love for his family was known to all. Allen passed away peacefully at home on January 27 at the age of 89.
Allen was born in New York City on February 9, 1936. He attended Morris High School in the Bronx before proudly serving in the United States Navy from 1954 - 1958. Allen was stationed on the U.S.S. Intrepid and held the rank of AG-3 as the ship’s meteorologist. Following his service, he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University on the GI bill. He went on to a career in sales, traveling all over the world. He married Valerie Catania in 1964, and together they raised three exceptional children.
Allen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Valerie, his children, Richard (Debbie) LeBourveau, Peter (Mary) LeBourveau, and Kristin (Jason) Brock; his grandchildren Jeffrey (Stephanie) Hoorfar, Nickolas (Brittany) LeBourveau, Andrew, Sarah, and Nathan LeBourveau, and Magnolia Brock; great-grandchildren Ethan and Lucas Hoorfar and Scarlett LeBourveau, sister Mary Hagenberg, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Rose LeBourveau, and brother Bill LeBourveau.
Allen was a certified scuba diver, avid reader, jazz lover, history buff, and enthusiastic sports fan. His love for the New York Football Giants was only outmatched by his passion for watching his grandkids play sports.
