Barbara Jean Warren Ringo, 80, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at home, with her family by her side, after a courageous 12-month battle with cancer.
Barbara was born on September 25, 1944, in Sacramento, California. She married James Gary Ringo on August 1, 1965, and moved with him to Kansas City in 1974, where they shared a loving marriage until his passing in 2020.
A devoted caregiver, Barbara dedicated her career to nursing, serving many years as an emergency room nurse. Her compassion, steady hands, and calm presence touched countless lives during moments of crisis.
Beyond her profession, Barbara had a deep love for traveling and cruising the world with her husband. She participated actively in the Seeker's Sunday School group and enjoyed the friendships she made there. For the past 17 years, she volunteered at Hillcrest Thrift Store working faithfully alongside Gary.
Barbara is survived by her brother David Warren; her children, Cindy Hubbard (Don), Steve Ringo, and Kevin Ringo (Krissy); her grandchildren, Caitlin Cox (David), Brooke Escalente (Jesus), Zach Ringo (Ari), Ayla Ringo and Matthew Ringo; and her great-grandchildren, Lilly Cox, Elia Escalante, and Oliver Escalante.
In accordance with her wishes, Barbara's body was donated to the KU Willed Body Program, and no funeral services will be held.
Barbara will be remembered for her strength, kindness, adventurous spirit and unwavering love for her family and friends.
