Carol A Hendrix

Carol A Hendrix 81 of Shawnee KS died on Oct. 3, 2025. Carol was born in Nevada MO to Ernest and Imogene (Schnedler) Gibson. She worked in the healthcare field as Social Service Director and Office Manager at Nevada Manor. She also enjoyed cooking and owned and operated her own Diner for many years.

Carol was an avid reader and quilter. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, jig saw puzzles and most especially she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include Mike Olinger, her best friend and soulmate. Her children, Darla (Steve) Rangel of Prophetstown IL, Sandy (Rick) Whiles of Hurdland MO, Ronnie (Julie) Jacobs of Mechanicsville VA and daughter in law Tanya Brooks of Mountain Home AR, 10 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. Her brothers, Jerry (Katherine) Gibson of Chula MO, Chuck (Bonnie) Gibson of Fulton MO and a Sister in law Linda Gibson of Kansas City MO.

Carol was preceded by her parents, her sister Dorothy Kratz a brother Bobby Gibson and her son Brian Brooks.

A memorial for Carol will be held this Saturday, Oct 11th at 1:00pm at The Shawnee Group 12616 W 62nd Terrace Suite 113 in Shawnee KS.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Nevada MO.
