Christine M. Hagemann

June 22, 1965 — August 9, 2025

Christine Marie Hagemann passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones and prayer. Chris was a cherished wife, mother, and Gigi; a beloved daughter, sister, and aunt; as well as an impactful teacher, loving friend, and dedicated woman of faith.

Born and raised in Waterloo, IA, Chris shared many memories in the Weber's home on Independence Avenue with her younger siblings, Mike and JJ. She graduated from Columbus Catholic High School in 1983, where she met her lifelong partner, Mark. Chris joined Mark in Europe after Mark was stationed in northern Italy with the US Army. The two were married in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1985. After returning to the US, Mark and Chris welcomed their first two daughters in Kansas City, Missouri, before moving to the St. Louis area, where their third daughter was born. Several years later, they moved to Lenexa, Kansas, where they spent most of their life.

Chris had a passion for teaching and went above and beyond in various special education positions in the Olathe School District, continually impacting her students' lives and establishing lifelong friendships over her nearly 30-year tenure. Chris treasured her second home at the Lake of the Ozarks, so it was not surprising that a family celebration at the lake was the top item on her bucket list this June. Chris shared beautiful memories with her grandchildren, whether that be at the lake, taking walks to see the construction vehicles nearby, cheering her grandsons on at their sporting events, or spending time baking with her granddaughter.

Chris's identity and purpose was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, and this was demonstrated through her care, kindness, and love for those around her. Chris inspired many with her steadfast faith, strength, and bravery during her battle with pancreatic cancer.

Family was everything to Chris. She is survived by her husband, Mark; children, Amy (Paul) Brown, Kaley (Mark) Wagner and Erin (Nick) Johnson; grandchildren, Lucas, Nora, Wally, Theo, Desmond, Jude, and Dominic; mother, Sharon Weber; brother, Mike Weber (Pam); brother-in-law Cary (Anne) Meier; mother-in-law, Fran Hagemann; brothers in-law, Tom Hagemann (Rose), Steve Hagemann (Susan), and John Hagemann (Connie); sisters in-law, Julie (Bob) Delagardelle, and Barb (Todd) Williams; and many nieces and nephews. Chris was preceded in death by her father, Ed Weber; sister, JJ Meier; father-in-law, Dave Hagemann; aunt, Mary Chadbourne; as well as many other aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11311 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203, on Saturday, August 16, at 9:30am. Her funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10:30am.
