Kansas City, Missouri

Christopher William Strube (59) of Centerville, Iowa passed away on July 18, 2023. He was residing in Kansas City, Missouri at the time of his death.

Chris was born to Jack Emerson and Becky Jane Hansen (Emerson) on November 4, 1963. He was later adopted by LeRoy Henry Strube.

He was married to Ruth E. Kaufman on April 27, 1985 in South Bend, Indiana, and they were married for almost 32 years before parting ways in April 2017. They were the proud and loving parents to four amazing children and grandparents to seven grandchildren, all who survive him. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy, and he would brag about them to any and everyone.

Business was a passion of his, and his entrepreneurial ventures ranged from land development, lawncare, commercial photography, and general contracting and founder of Strube Builders.

Chris traveled to 27 countries all over the world, and loved people. He made friends everywhere he went, and his love for vibrant cultures and God’s creation was vast. He was involved in ample local, national and international philanthropic work. He pastored Good Samaritan Church in Centerville that served the local community and fed and clothed those in need for many years. Chris took a lead role in the Iowa flood relief efforts of 1993, and partnered with Feed the Hungry, a non-profit ministry founded by his mentor, Dr. Lester Sumrall.

In his free time, Chris enjoyed fishing, boating and grilling on Rathbun Lake, traveling around the country to visit friends and family, and he also had a love for dogs and raised and owned hundreds of pups over the course of his life.

Chris' children will be holding a private memorial service for him. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to LeSea Global Feed the Hungry, or Paws With A Cause
