Connie Stutts

Independence, Missouri

December 14, 1970 – June 27, 2026
Connie Stutts, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend, passed away on June 27, 2026, at the age of 55. Though small in stature, Connie possessed a feisty spirit, a fierce protective nature, and a boundless heart that welcomed everyone she met. After a lifetime of giving her absolute all to those she loved, she has found eternal rest in the arms of the Lord, embodying the comfort of Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. "

Born on December 14, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, Connie spent her early years building a life of profound purpose. She resided in Pennsylvania for a period, creating fond memories, before ultimately returning to her beloved hometown of Kansas City, where she spent the remainder of her days surrounded by her family and closest friends.

Connie was the definition of resilience and work ethic. She began her career as a server and, through sheer determination and excellence, rose to the rank of hotel management. Throughout her professional journey, she received numerous awards and accolades, though her truest reward lay in the lasting impact she made on others; guests and colleagues alike consistently praised her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. Beyond her career, Connie was a pillar of strength and a passionate advocate for her children's education. She fiercely championed their futures, ensuring they were enrolled in top-tier programs and even establishing a classroom environment at home with desks and books during the summer months to ensure they always excelled.

Her generosity knew no bounds. Known affectionately as a "second mom" to many, Connie frequently gave her very last to anyone in need. She moved through life with intentional thoughtfulness—never missing an opportunity to send cards filled with beautifully written messages, organizing heartfelt gifts months in advance, and always ensuring her home was stocked with treats for visitors. While she was incredibly tender-hearted, Connie was also a fierce protector who would go to the ends of the earth to defend the ones she loved. That same trademark passion and loyalty extended to her sports, as she was a die-hard, lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan who cheered for her team with the same vibrant energy she brought to every aspect of her life.

Connie’s legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on through the family she adored. She is survived by her children, Heather (Kyle) Schweiger, Alesha (Brandan) Montgomery, and John Thomas IV, all of whom she shared with their father, John Thomas III; her three cherished granddaughters, Maya, Nuriyah, and Cora; her brother, Dale; her sister, Kay; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who became family. She was reunited in heaven by her loving mother, two brothers, and her precious grandson. Connie’s vibrant spirit and fierce love will never be forgotten, and her memory will continue to comfort all who knew her.
