Darla "Pajhuab Haam" Truong was born on November 10th, 1974 in Na Song, Laos to Nyaj Suav Haam and Kab Muas. In 1980,
following the Vietnam War, Pajhuab immigrated to the United States in hopes of a better life. She eventually settled in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her parents and 11 siblings. Pajhuab was always a strong advocate for education. She earned
her Associate of Science degree after high school graduation and had a longstanding career as an Executive Administration
Assistant in the healthcare industry.
Pajhuab was known for her generosity, intelligence, charisma, and endless talents. At a young age, she developed a lifelong
love for music and a passion to perform. Her angelic voice and singing versatility earned her an honorable place in the
Hmong community, where spent many years performing at different events around the nation. Although she released many
successful tracks, many people consider the songs, "Me Leej Nus Toj Siab" and "Mam Sib Ntsib Saum Ntuj Ceebtsheej" to
be her most iconic hits; these songs will continue to resonate within the hearts of those who were touched by her music.
Her battle with cancer began in August of 2025 and progressed for a duration of 8 months. Pajhuab departed from this side of
eternity on April 12th, 2026.
Pajhuab was preceded in death by her nephew, Matthias Haam and her brother, Xeev Xais Haam. She leaves to cherish her
memory: her father, Nyaj Suav Haam; her mothers, Kab Muas and Lig Thoj; her 7 brothers, Vaam Nkaub, Num Tsheej, Npis,
Tsaav Hawj, Casper, Npawv, and Charlie; her 3 sisters, Maiv Kub, Xis, and Mary; her 4 children, Julius, Emily, Mandy, and
Xander; along with a host of relatives and close friends.
On April 5th, 2026, a week before she passed, Pajhuab made the decision to repent from her sins and accept Jesus
Christ as her Lord and Savior. Moments before her last breath, she spoke her final words, "I am going now. God is calling for
me." Many would say that Pajhuab lost her battle with cancer, but in reality, she won the war because she has gained her
salvation.
If Pajhuab were standing before you all now, she would echo the wise teachings of King Solomon from the book of
Ecclesiastes. She would leave you all with this final life lesson: "I have seen everything done in this world, and I tell you, it is all
useless. It is like chasing the wind... After all this, there is only one thing to say: Have reverence for God, and obey his
commands, because this is all that we were created for" (Ecclesiastes 1:14, 12:13). Pajhuab will be forever missed by her loved
ones. May she rest in peace until we meet again in the presence of the Lord.
