David “Brian” Fisher, 55, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 9, 2025, surrounded by love. Born May 13, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, Brian lived a life full of laughter, faith, and devotion to the people he loved most. His humor, “just do it” attitude, and generous heart made him a bright light in every room.
Brian grew up in Kansas City, graduating from Bishop Miege High School in 1989, where he made lifelong friends and loved his time playing football. Shortly after, he proudly served his country aboard the USS George Philip in the U.S. Navy from 1989 to 1991.
After his service, Brian moved to Arizona, where he welcomed his daughter Caralee. Eventually, he returned to Kansas City and built a successful career in sales, most recently as a Commercial Salesman with Century Roofing. Known for his quick wit, loyalty, and caring nature, Brian had a gift for turning even everyday moments into fun.
Family was the heart of Brian’s life. He cherished being a son, brother, dad, uncle, and grandfather. He shared a special, unbreakable bond with his sisters, always there for one another through thick and thin, knowing that even a simple conversation or hug could lift them through a tough time. His joyful presence filled family gatherings with laughter, and his nieces and nephews adored “Uncle Brian,” who never missed a chance to make them smile. He was the one who always showed up, ready to support, encourage, or crack a joke when it was needed most.
Brian’s passions reflected his playful and curious spirit. He was a devoted Colts fan and loved his fantasy football leagues. His fascination with aviation began in childhood and stayed with him all his life, leading him to study aircraft and even take flying lessons. He also loved to dream big, often telling stories of his “lottery winnings” and how he’d share them with everyone he loved.
Faith was an anchor for Brian. It carried him through life’s challenges and especially during this past year. He leaned on it for strength and freely shared it with others, offering encouragement and hope wherever he could.
Brian is survived by his father and stepmother, David and Debbie Fisher of Kansas City, MO; his daughter, Caralee Fisher of Puxico, MO; his stepdaughters, Tasha (Zane) Martin of Aberdeen, SD, and Rilie (Jason) Barnes of Shawnee, KS; and his beloved grandchildren, Khloe, Shaina, and Aaron. He also leaves behind his sisters, Denise (Tim) Perry of Kansas City, KS; Diana (Curtis) Foster of Grain Valley, MO; and Danielle (Eric) Larson of Kansas City, MO; as well as 4 nieces, 2 nephews, 13 great-nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.
Brian’s life was filled with love, laughter, and light. His joyful spirit, kind heart, and ability to bring fun into every situation will be remembered always. Though deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the countless smiles, memories, and stories he leaves behind. A private family service will be held at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date.
