Earl Martin Isom Jr., 89, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on November 20, 1936, in Kansas City, Earl lived a life defined by faith, service, hard work, and devotion to those he loved. A proud United States Marine, he carried discipline, strength, and steadfast character throughout his life. Following his service, he owned and operated a detailing business alongside his brother, earning a reputation for integrity, dedication, and a strong work ethic.
At the center of Earl’s life was his beloved wife, Suzanne (Boothman) Isom. Together, they shared 64 years of marriage and built a family rooted in love, faith, and loyalty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl M. Isom Sr. and Eva (Long) Isom; his brothers, James Isom and John Isom; his sister, Margaret Harvey; and his son, Michael Kelly.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his children, Arthur Kelly (Melody), Stacey Isom-Salazar, Gina Isom, Tina Edwards (Thomas), Joseph Isom, and Tracy Bustamante (Miguel); his grandchildren Joshua, Hayden, Zachary, Marisa, Antonina, Niccolo, Cagney, Shelbie, Ava, Sofia, Dugan, Samantha, Wade, Shanda, and Miranda; and his great-grandchildren Jaxon, Brooks, Presley, Maci, Madelyn, Jayli, Jozi, Mizzi, Riley, Mackenna, and Maevry.
Those who knew Earl knew a man who was strong-willed, steadfast, and full of love. He could fix just about anything, tell a good story, and make those around him feel cared for. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time spent with his family. If there is one thing those who loved him will always remember, it is this: he loved them deeply.
A faithful member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Earl found comfort in his faith throughout his life. His family finds peace in knowing he is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before him and rests in the eternal embrace of God.
Services will be held on July 10th at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. Visitation will take place from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a rosary from 10:30–11:00 a.m., and Mass at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Terrace Park Cemetery.
