Helen Marie Atkinson

Helen Marie Atkinson, 76, passed away with family by her side on Monday, July 10th, 2023.  Helen was born in Kansas City, KS, the only child to Edward & Velma Cassidy.  She was a life-long area resident graduating from Wyandotte High School.  Helen always saw the good in everybody, even the bad ones.  She will be dearly missed.  She leaves behind her husband of 46 years, James Atkinson, daughter Julie Brown (Ernest), grandson Zachary Brown (Andrea), grandson Richard Brown (Chelsea), 2 sisters-in-law, Mary Meyr (Larry) and Charlene, brother-in-law David Atkinson and several cousins and great friends.  She was preceded in death by her son, Roy E. Shoemaker Jr, and her parents Edward & Velma Cassidy. 

Services will be on Monday, July 17th at Kansas City Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, KS  66106. Visitation will start at 10 AM with service beginning at 11 AM.  Procession immediately following to Maple Hill  Cemetery for burial.
