James L. Young

James L. Young, 89, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on January 22, 2023. A graveside service is being planned for 1PM on March 19, 2023 at Cedarville Cemetery in Neosha Falls, Kansas.

 

James was born in 1933 in Chanute, KS to Carl & Edith Young. He was one of eleven children born to Carl & Edith. James proudly served four years in the United States Navy. He worked for thirty-one years in the bread business for Rainbow Bread. In later years he worked as a service writer for Rusty Eck Ford doing so for ten years. James retired to Olathe, Kansas and resided there the last twenty-eight years of his life.

 

James met the love of his life, Mary Francis, in the sixth grade and married in 1951. They had five boys: Butch, Carl, Randy, Dan, & Troy. They also had nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many wonderful extended family and friends. James enjoyed life to the fullest and loved spending time with his family.

 

James was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis & son, Butch. He is survived by his four sons: Carl, Randy(Linda), Dan(Cheryl) & Troy; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; four siblings: Emma Lou, Margaret, Linda, & John; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
