Joan Scharschell, 85 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at her home. She was born February 12, 1937 the daughter of Earl Andrews and Dollia Mae Courtright. In 1950 she married her spouse Leonard Scharschell.
She enjoyed doing puzzles, watching The Young and The Restless, going to Big Biscuit every weekend and watching many Western movies. Joan especially loved her black coffee. Most importantly she loved spending time with family. She worked many years as a housekeeper/maintenance at Price Brothers Properties.
Joan is preceded in death by her parents Earl Andrews and Dollia Mae Courtright; her husband Leonard Scharschell; son James Scharschell Sr; daughter Mary "Mary Jo" Scharschell; granddaughter Angela Shaikh; sisters Wanda Brookshier, Sharon White and Alice McEuen and brothers Bill and Carl Andrews and Bud Courtright.
She leaves behind 3 sons and a daughter, Joe Scharschell and his spouse Terri Deeser, Frank Scharschell, Leroy Scharschell and his spouse Sherel Scharschell and Marie Scharschell. Joan is also survived by an enormous number of grandkids.
Funeral Service noon with visitation at 11 am on January 06, 2023 at KC Funeral Directors, 4880 Shawnee Drive, KCK. We will meet at Maple Hill for burial following service. No formal procession.
