John O. Beaudoin, 84, of Gardner, Kansas, joined our heavenly father on January 26, 2026, at Homestead of Eudora, KS under Hospice Care.
Visitation will be held from 9am - 9:40am, Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 18335 W. 168th Terr., Olathe, KS 66062. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, followed by immediate burial after mass at Resurection Cemetary, 8300 Quivera Rd., Lenexa, KS, 66216.
John was born to Louis E. Beaudoin and Kathryn S. (Powers) Beaudoin in Marquette, MI. this is where he grew up and enjoyed sharing many stories of his beloved Marquette. John attended Michigan Tech U in civil engineering, and Northern Michigan U where he majored in Math and Physics. He met his wife Carol in Marquette and started a family. He had many talents he enjoyed in life, drawing, playing guitar, gardening, grilling and many projects around his home. He was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather, he loved family time, gaming, and spending time with grandchildren. The grandchildren loved their grandpas sense of humor and story telling and passing on his love for singing and playing music and dance. During his adult life John enjoyed a 39yr long career as a Manager for SS Kresge, and became District Manager for the newly named Kmart, he traveled the US through many states to open new Kmart stores and praised for bringing struggling stores back to success. John saw Kmart through to the end before he retired. John was a dedicated leader. To keep himself busy in retirement, John took a contracted position for Lowe’s setting up displays in five stores for about four years. In full retirement, he dedicated more time to their Church in Fishers, IN St. Louis De Montfort as Greeters, he and his wife Carol were very active parishners and enjoyed gardening together. He was always proud of his Iris Garden and keeping the view deck beautiful and colorful with flowers and trees all around.
John was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Kathryn Beaudoin, and brother Louis Beaudoin Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years of marriage, Carol M. Beaudoin; his sister Mary Kay Schork Calucchia (Joe Calucchia); his son John L. Beaudoin (Melissa Beaudoin); Daughter Deanna Hauk (John Hauk); Granddaughter, Kathryn Beaudoin Scott (Noah Scott); Grandson, Justin Beaudoin; Granddaughter, Gretta Hauk; Great Grandaughter Emilia Beaudoin Scott; Great Grandson Murphy Lee Scott.
