Jose Maria Placensia Castaneda

Jose Placensia Castañeda,17, a well loved son, brother, grandson, and

friend. He passed away on April 20th, 2025 in University of Kansas Medical Center,

in Kansas City, Kansas.

Jose was born in the same spot that he passed away. He was one of four

children. He enjoyed being with his friends, making them smile and

laugh through his way of being. His favorite hobbies were eating a lot of

pizza, playing on his Xbox, and hanging out with his girlfriend. Jose was

a responsible, loving kid who never meant anything ill through his

intentions. He was bound to graduate in December 2025, but God’s will

had a different plan for him. Now he rests eternally in peace alongside

his baby sister.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 5:00~7:00 PM at Holy Cross 

Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St, Overland Park, Kansas 66212. A funeral Mass will 

follow at 7:00 PM. Burial will take place in San Miguel El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.
