Kenneth "Kenny" D. Field

d. October 27, 2025

Kenneth D. “Kenny” Field, 76, of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away on October 27, 2025, comforted by the love of family and friends.

Kenny was born on March 7, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas, to W.D. (Dale) Field and Pauline V. Field. He grew up in Shawnee, Kansas, and graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from Pittsburg State University. From his earliest years, Kenny was known for his warm heart, gentle humor, and kind spirit. He was a devoted son, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend whose presence brought light, laughter, and comfort to all who knew him.

A true sports enthusiast, Kenny found great joy in bowling, darts, and pool—activities that reflected both his love of friendly competition and his enjoyment of time spent with others. He participated in Kansas City Dart Association tournaments and received numerous first-place awards. Ken took first place in the Joplin Tri-State Open for mixed triples. He also won a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the National Tournament by placing at the top of his dart league—a highlight of his dart career. His dedication and talent were matched only by the friendships he formed through the game.

Kenny was also an avid sports fan, cheering passionately for his favorite teams—the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas Jayhawks. He loved watching the games with family and friends, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie that came with every season.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, W.D. (Dale) Field and Pauline V. Field; his sister, Terri L. Atkinson; and his nephew, Russell L. Miesner.

He leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Peggy Field; and his sister and brother-in-law, Debora (Debi) and Mark Riser. Kenny was a proud uncle to three nieces and three nephews, and a loving great-uncle to five great-nieces and six great-nephews. His family will forever cherish the many memories of his laughter and kindness.

In keeping with Kenny’s wishes, no formal services will be held. His family and friends will honor his life privately, remembering him with love, gratitude, and the joy he brought into their lives.

May he rest in peace, embraced by the same warmth and kindness he shared so freely throughout his life.
