Mary Frances Rollins

Mary Frances (Fran) Rollins, 90, passed away on March 20, 2023, with her family by her side.

Fran was born October 6, 1932, to the late Maupin L. Jennings and Mary H. Remer Jennings, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1950 and received a BS in Home Economics from the University of Missouri in 1954.

She married Fred R. Rollins, Jr. in 1956, and they lived together in the Kansas City area their entire married life.  Fran is survived by her two children: Robin Harrold (Dave) of Shawnee, KS and Sharon Rollins of Olathe, KS. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Laurel Blubaugh (Erik), Logan Harrold (Allison), Lyndsey Harrold (Tim), Brady Wang, Caroline Wang, a great-grandchild, Harper Frances Harrold, nieces and nephews. Fran was preceded by nieces and nephews, her devoted sister, Louise Lasley in 2011 and loving husband Fred, in 2014, after celebrating 58 years of marriage.

Fred and Fran devoted much of their energy to supporting and enjoying Community Christian Church where they met and attended all of their married life.   Fran loved her volunteer years at JCCC and the sisterhood of PEO.  She continued to avidly read the Kansas City Star until her passing and would often engage us in conversation about local and world events

Being a mother and creating a safe and loving home was one of the most important parts of Fran’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom; supportive, kind, and witty. She was a woman of strong values, and she instilled in us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.  We will miss her dearly.

A celebration of Fran’s life will be held on April 29 at 10:30am, preceded by a visitation at 10:00am, at Community Christian Church, 4601 Main Street, KCMO.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Fran’s memory may be sent to PEO Chapter FN, c/o Marilyn Beohm, 13860 Metcalf Ave., Apt. 22320, Overland Park, KS 66223
