Patricia (Miles) Chambliss, 92, passed away on November 19th at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be on Saturday December 6th from 10am to 11am at Heritage United Methodist Church, 12850 Quivira Road, Overland Park. Funeral services will follow at the church at 11am.
Pat was born in Ohlman, Illinois. After her family moved to Alton, Illinois, she attended Alton schools, graduating from Alton High School in 1950. She earned her B.A. from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. She and Ross Chambliss married on July 3, 1954. She taught first grade in the Alton school system. The couple, along with their three children, moved to Overland Park, Kansas, in 1970.
Pat was active in Delta Delta Delta, PEO, and was a dedicated member of Valley View United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities, including the Evening Care program and her bible study circle. Most of all, she enjoyed her family.
She is survived by her husband Ross of 71 years, and her children, Lori Lorg (John) of Olathe, Kansas; Chris Chambliss (Linda) of Cookeville, Tennessee; and Amy Keith, of Shawnee, Kansas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband Ross will miss her love, companionship and dedication to making a happy home. Her children will miss her positive outlook on life, faithfulness and humility. Lori will specifically miss their lunches and shopping trips and her ability to make anyone who came into her home feel welcome. Amy will specifically miss their quilting together and her hugs. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The funeral service will be live streamed on Heritage United Methodist Church’s You Tube channel.
