In Loving Memory of Paula Stegmaier

Paula Stegmaier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so dearly. Born on August 6, 1949, Paula lived a life filled with faith, family, friendship, laughter, and love.

Paula shared 55 beautiful years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Pat Stegmaier. Their enduring love was a testament to the commitment they made to one another and the life they built together. Through all of life’s joys and challenges, Pat was by Paula’s side, and their love remained at the heart of their family.

A devoted Catholic, Paula’s faith was an important part of her life. She graduated from Saint Teresa’s Academy in 1967 and carried the values of her faith throughout the years.

Paula attended cosmetology school and became a hairdresser, a profession that perfectly suited her warm and outgoing personality. She loved people and had a natural ability to make others feel comfortable, cared for, and beautiful.

Paula’s greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a loving mother to her two children, Scott Stegmaier and Katie McKinney. She was incredibly proud of them and cherished the family they created together.

Her grandchildren lovingly called her “Nonnie,” and being a grandmother was something she cherished every day. Through Scott and Edanna, she was blessed with three grandchildren, Tyler, Zac, and Maggie. Through Katie and Mike, she was blessed with three grandchildren, Gage, Brayden, and Dylan. Paula treasured each of her grandchildren and the unique bond she shared with every one of them.

Paula was always the hostess and truly the life of the party. She loved opening her home to family and friends, bringing people together, and making every gathering memorable. Her smile, laughter, and charismatic spirit could light up a room. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and at home.

Paula’s greatest gifts were her generous heart, unwavering faith, devotion to her family, and ability to find happiness in the people around her. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, celebrations, family traditions, and love.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Pat; her children, Scott and Katie (Mike); her grandchildren, Tyler, Zac, Maggie, Gage, Brayden, and Dylan; and her siblings, Tom (Jeannie) Meyer, Karen Meyer, Michael (Pam) Meyer, and Lisa (John) Hanna, along with several beloved nephews, nieces, brother in law, sisters in law, extended family members, and dear friends who were fortunate to know and love her.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Beatrice “Dolly” Meyer.

Though her chair may be empty and her voice may be missed at family gatherings, the love she gave so freely will remain in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Paula passed away as she lived—with the people she loved most surrounding her. May she rest peacefully in the arms of her Lord, secure in the love of her family and the faith she held so dear.

She will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished Nonnie, beloved sister, faithful Catholic, gracious hostess, and the life of every party.
