Peggy Lou Leonard, 84, died September 25, 2026 of lung cancer. She is survived by her spouse, Mary Beth, “Bucky” Will, her sister, Marilyn Roberts, her son Matthew Bruner (Traci), granddaughter Karissa Andre (Kyle) and great grandson Karver; granddaughter Brandi, and grandson Brandon. She was preceded in death by her sister Imogene Jaster Beagle, parents Agnes Pozniak Roberts and Lawrence P Leonard, and her first spouse Marilyn Bruner Howell. She is also survived by a host of many cousins, a niece and nephews. She is fondly remembered by Bucky’s family, including several sisters and brothers-in-law and even more nieces and nephews. 

Peggy was raised in Monett, MO until she was 7 when the family moved to Kansas City, KS. She graduated from the Ursuline Academy in Paola, KS in 1962. She then went on to graduate from KCKCC, as Valedictorian of the very first Nursing Class in 1971. She finished her education at the KU School of Nurse Anesthesia in 1974 and worked at Olathe, North Kansas City, and OP Regional Hospitals, retiring in 2010. Peggy took great pride in delivering anesthesia to patients and helping them wake peacefully and calmly. She was a kind and thoughtful person who loved wildlife, corgis, good tools, and good lawnmowers. She was not afraid of complex projects.
