Thomas Lee Lehman, 87, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at North Kansas City Hospice House. Born on April 2, 1939, in Hartshorne, Oklahoma, Thomas lived a life marked by faith, strength, devotion, and love for his family. He proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1961.
Thomas was a faithful man of Christ whose life reflected kindness, perseverance, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Judy Lehman, who preceded him in death on November 10, 2021. Together they built a family grounded in love and faith.
Thomas dedicated much of his life to serving others. He worked as a custodian at the local grade school and was a dedicated baseball coach for many community children, making a lasting impact on the lives of countless young people through his patience, encouragement, and love of the game.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and simple joys in life. He enjoyed fishing, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, following NASCAR races, and attending races whenever he could. Some of his family’s most treasured memories were the many summer trips and travels they shared together over the years.
He is survived by his children, Thomas R. Lehman, Robert Lehman, and Alice James-Hammond; and by his cherished grandchildren, Poppy, Ali Whisler, and Codey Mahan.
Thomas will be remembered as a strong and caring man, a faithful husband and father, and someone who found joy in the simple things in life — especially the companionship of his beloved cats. His steady presence, loving heart, generous spirit, and enduring faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
