Virginia L. Galindo

d. April 20, 2024

Kansas City, Kansas

Virginia L Galindo, 90, of Kansas City, KS, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 20, 2024.
Virginia was a graduate of Argentine High School.
She proudly supported her husband and family throughout his military career. Her lifelong professional career was spent as a Secretary. She was employed at The Wyandot Center 20+ years as an Executive Secretary, leaving there to enter an early retirement.
She was the "Grande Dame" of a five-generational family. We all found comfort in her guidance. She stressed the importance of keeping traditions alive that bring the family together. She was generous and always willing and ready to help others. Virginia had an appreciation for the finer things in life. She was an avid world traveler, having enjoyed several European tours among other destinations. She loved "all things Disney" including frequent family trips to Disney World in Florida. She enjoyed genealogy research, casino tours, cooking and entertaining. Word puzzles, English and WWII films were a few of her favorites.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcial Suarez and Alicia Madero Suarez; infant brother, David; two sisters, Ann Florez and Pauline Dunn; her husband, Margarito and her beloved son, Michael.
She is survived by her brother, Marcial Suarez, Jr (Joyce); daughter, Anna Marie Walker; two granddaughters, Christina Gallegos (Joel) and Alicia Walker, grandson, Michael Galindo, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Laura Gallegos Sanchez (Isaias), Joel Gallegos, Jr, Emilia Thomas, Carina Walker, Dominic Galindo, Michael Galindo III, Gabriel Galindo and Gianni Galindo; and two great-great-grandchildren, Benjamin Gallegos and Allison Sanchez. Also, many beloved nieces and nephews.
We want to express our heartfelt appreciation to our family and friends for their never-ending care and support.
We also would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the in-home care team and staff at KC Hospice House for their excellent service.
A graveside service will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery on Friday, May 10th at 10am.
